Since her first viral moment six years ago, Yebba has accrued experience working on Grammy-Award winning tracks with PJ Morton and guest spots on Drake’s latest album ‘Certified Lover Boy’. More impressively she has taken the turbulent experiences life can throw at you and continued on with increased confidence that shines throughout ‘Dawn’. Backed by an all-star cast including ?uestlove and Palo Palladino alongside collaborators like Kaytranada and A$AP Rocky, this is a big budget Pop debut that never threatens to overshadow Yebba’s rising star. Pulling from R&B, Pop and soulful Jazz, ‘Dawn’ has a timeless feel that, thanks to its depth and variety, goes far beyond superficial retro styling. Instead, the shifting influences and range allow Yebba’s open lyricism and resonant vocals to remain immediate and endearing throughout.
